Jorge Iellamo

Jorge Iellamo, an Italian national and Economics graduate from La Sapienza University in Rome, began his Jiu-Jitsu journey in 1998 during his formative years in Brazil. Immersed in Rio de Janeiro’s vibrant martial arts culture, he trained under Leo D’llha, a direct student of the legendary Carlson Gracie. In 2000, he joined the prestigious Alliance Ipanema team, developing under co-founder Alexandre “Gigi” Paiva, before continuing his progression with the Gracie Ilha I.C. Jardim Guanabara team in his home neighborhood of Rio.

After two significant breaks in his competitive career, Jorge returned to training in 2023 with the Aranha Association. In 2024, he made an impressive comeback to international competition, achieving outstanding results and stepping onto the podium at both the World Pro and the European Championship. Currently ranked #1 in the AJP World Ranking in his division, he has secured multiple Grand Slam titles in Rome, Abu Dhabi, and Brazil, earning medals in every competition entered over the past two seasons.

Alongside his competitive success, Jorge has been actively teaching foundational and youth categories in Barcelona, sharing his technical precision, strategic mindset, and passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Today at Team Impact, Jorge unites his Italian heritage with his Brazilian spirit, representing an authentic Old School approach that blends discipline, respect, and artistry on the mats.
